    Once you find a therapist/psychiatrist who your loved one can connect with, they will be able to give you guidance on what your next steps are in supporting your loved one.

    The order of your next steps will be determined on a case-by-case basis and the severity of the depression or any other mental health issues you or your loved one is experiencing. Below is a possible example of the order of steps you could take, based on my personal experience.

    Alternative therapy solutions:
    Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an alternative treatment for MDD (major depressive disorder) that has been shown to be safe and effective for those with TRD (treatment resistant depression).

    Esketamine (therapy from Johnson & Johnson) is a prescription nasal spray that may help those with TRD.

    Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a procedure performed under general anesthesia that can help provide significant improvements in severe symptoms of mental health conditions, including severe depression, TDR, and severe mania.
